So often we have learnt how to move away from, to move around or to rise above thoughts, feelings and energies within us or part of us.
Those parts of us that were unwanted, unheld or dismissed in childhood are banished into the shadows of our unconscious. We move forward in life with an identity of creative adaptations. In the meantime, these parts of us remain relegated, marginalised, and can become forgotten. In doing this, we diminish our life force energy, our joy, our power and we forget who we truly and fully are.
Ironically, this then directs our lives in ways outside of our choice. We are ruled from the shadows, from that which we have strove so much to avoid.
The ‘Romancing the Shadow’ workshop invites you to take time to meet some of these shadow parts in a fun, creative way, through movement, exploration and myth.
